Thank you so much for visiting my website!  I hope you enjoy the artwork - that it uplifts and inspires you to: appreciate all the beauty around you; spend some time in nature; listen to your heart; sing to your pets; create.  If you have any questions or comments or would like to be notified of future workshops in experimental acrylic techniques, or if you'd like to arrange a show or commission:

Primarily, I am an abstract-representational landscape and seascape painter.   I’m drawn to the magical, whimsical spirit of what I see and feel and am fascinated by the interplay of color, contrast and the light that may be felt rather than seen.  My process is a spontaneous one that evolves through the application of multiple successive (and sometimes subtractive) layers of paint to achieve texture, movement and a luminous visual depth.  A bright, bold palette often dominates my work.  Lately I'm primarily a glass artist and have come to coin what I do "Colori In Vetro", which is Italian for "colors in glass."  These pieces are both 2D and 3D (oil lamps, vases, etc.) and have the look of either stained or fused glass.  They are best viewed with light shining through them (i.e., in a window) or on them.  Because I’m a firm believer in art’s ability to heal, it’s very important to me that my work contributes to what’s joyful and uplifting in this world.  I hope that my work uplifts and inspires you!

My novel, Under the 'Ulu Tree, is a work of multi-cultural fantasy/fiction, it journeys through Hawaii (past and present), the Middle East, India, Oceania and Washington State and deals with social, environmental, spiritual, and relationship issues.  Most of all it's about healing.
