  About Me

I'm A Woman Who Loves Helping Other Women

Although I've worked with many clients on a variety of issues, my passion continues to be helping women navigate the many challenges that accompany the change of life.   Having undergone this process myself, I personally understand how uncomfortable and even devastating some of these changes can be.  The ability to live with a sense of well-being, purpose and joy is important at any stage of life, but especially as we come into our own in our later years.  Divorce,  the “empty nest” syndrome, caring for ill/aging parents, retirement issues (yours or your spouse’s/partner’s), coping with changes that accompany hormone rebalancing such as interrupted sleep, emotional swings, irritability, depression and anxiety as well as how you view your body and finally saying “yes” to yourself after years of saying "yes" to everyone but yourself are examples.

My Education, Training and Experience:

I am a Washington State licensed mental health counselor.  I'm sometimes asked what licensure means,  so if you have the time and are up for a dry read, here it is:  I also completed a year of doctoral studies in eco-psychology through ProjectNatureConnect in Friday Harbor, WA.   My prior experience in the human service and behavioral health fields spans 30 years (not retired, but still a bonafide, AARP member who has earned every grey hair and her right to a discount breakfast) and includes mental health counseling; addictions treatment, prevention and education; social work and coaching & consulting.  I've also been a yoga and meditation practitioner for over 30 years and have taught the principles of both.

I offer a variety of treatment modalities so that together we can find the best approach to help you with your individual needs and goals.
